THE ROLE: We currently require casual Mental Health & Disability Support Workers available for Supported Independent Living & Community clients based in and around Mackay. This role will involve: Building and maintaining trusting and meaningful working relationships with our clients, their circle of support and the community. Assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating plans that enable our clients to set and achieve personal goals. Facilitating community inclusion and participation and supporting our clients to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues, and services. Encouraging positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively manage challenging behaviours. Providing personal care where required and personalised support in accordance with the personal plan. ABOUT YOU: You will have a passion for working with people with disabilities with an understanding and commitment to a person-centered model of practice. Previous experience in and knowledge of the disability services industry and an ability to work flexible hours, with a willingness to work a variety of shifts, with a variety of clients is a must. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Cert III Disability (or working towards), or experience in Disability Support. NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate. (Or willing to obtain) Experience with Manual Handling. Reliable transportation for Community Access & Participation. Current Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate. Queensland Provisional or above Driver’s Licence. Current Paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card). (Or willing to obtain) Current Paid NDIS Workers Screening Card (Yellow Card).
