In-house IP lawyer Our client is a global organisation with an annual revenue of $1.5 billion and holds several impressive local and world rankings in its field, as well as being named an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency for three years in a row. An opportunity has arisen for an engaging commercial lawyer to join the organisation’s welcoming and collaborative in-house legal team in Melbourne’s CBD. This employer has adopted a hybrid working model. The position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and provides plenty of senior stakeholder engagement and interaction. The successful candidate will ideally be a commercially focussed lawyer with IP experience (copyright, trade marks, some patents and trade practices) and ideally have a minimum of 4 years’ PQE from a well-regarded commercial practice or similar in-house environment. Those with strong commercial contracts experience and a keen interest in the IP space will also be considered. Key responsibilities Provide legal and strategic advice and support Negotiate and draft a wide variety of agreements, policies, and related documents Point of contact for internal clients and external parties across Research and Innovation Portfolios Develop relationships with key stakeholders Enhance and maintain template documents Liaise with external advisors Provide training where required Exciting career development prospects are on offer, as well as flexible working arrangements.
