Job Description Reporting to the General Counsel, this role demands the legal skills of a commercial lawyer who is able to work largely autonomously within a small legal team and work closely with and support our various business divisions. You will offer superior assistance across a wide range of legal and compliance issues, including: Draft, review, negotiate, settle and provide advice on a broad range of contracts including customer supply and service contracts, supplier contracts, distributor contracts, licensing contracts, property leases; Review and assist in responses to tenders including the review of tender contracts and the preparation of teaming agreements; Maintain, update and develop standard contracts; Vett advertising and promotional material, prepare trade promotion terms and conditions and review promotion campaign materials; Provide advice on a broad range of issues including Competition & Consumer Act and Australian Consumer Law, Privacy, Corporations Act; Ensure relevant staff are informed of new or impending legislation, court and regulatory body decisions and update contracts and policies and procedures accordingly; Advise and assist in the response to disputes; Assist in the implementation, maintenance and reinforcement of compliance programs; Assist in the establishment and maintenance of legislative, regulatory, contractual and other compliance processes, procedures and records; Develop and review policies; Provide legal training on relevant areas of law. Desired Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have: LL.B. Current practising certificate; Minimum 3 years relevant post admission experience within an in-house legal department or a reputable law firm; Demonstrated ability to interact with staff at all levels including senior management; Proven contract drafting and negotiation skills; Demonstrated experience with the review of sales/marketing material against consumer protection laws; and Have excellent time management and prioritisation skills and a track record of meeting tight deadlines.
