Come and be a part of this success. About the Role This role will support the WAAP portfolio from Studies (Development) through to Execution (Delivery). These projects cover a full range of assets and locations across the BHP Western Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) mining and non-mining operations. Particular focus of this role will be in relation to mine closure, rehabilitation and remediation projects focused on developing holistic landform designs through integration of key environmental, social and economic requirements taking the project from Studies (Development) through to Execution (Delivery). Technical aspects of these projects include surface water hydrology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, pit lakes, slope stability, landform design (including backfill/buttressing, surface water diversion and spillways), geotechnical investigations, surface rehabilitation and revegetation, contaminated sites management and post closure monitoring and maintenance. Based in Perth, Western Australia. A requirement of this role is intermittent travel to site for short periods, when required. The Discipline Engineer is a core member of the project Owners Team (see below for core accountabilities) working closely with the Project Engineer(s), Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Engineering/Technical Service Providers (ESPs) to support the Study Lead/Manager who has overall project accountability during the Study Phases (Development) and the Delivery Lead/Manager during the Execution Phase (Delivery). For the projects that they are involved with, the Principal Discipline Engineer will provide leadership, subject matter expertise and technical governance. More broadly, advising the WAAP portfolio on Closure provisioning. About You Essential to the capability, skills and attributes of candidates for this role is: Knowledge and experience in the application of the principals of or related to: Landform Evolution Modelling Surface rehabilitation and revegetation Surface water hydrology Hydrogeology Geochemistry Pit lakes Slope stability Landform design (including backfill/buttressing, surface water diversion and spillways) Geotechnical investigations Contaminated sites management; and Post closure monitoring and maintenance Minimum 8 years' experience in projects. Strong Technical Management experience. Experience working with or managing Engineering Service Providers and deliverable development. Civil / Environmental Engineer or similar discipline with mine closure, rehabilitation or remediation experience.
