Canberra based, full time permanent role Optimise spacecraft trajectories: launch and orbit insertion Attractive performance based bonus MCS is seeking a seeking an experienced Mission Analyst to support a LEO satellite constellation. You will play a key role in the smooth production, operation, analysis, and optimisation of all satellite systems. You will have the opportunity to work with renowned experts in the Australian space industry working in a cooperative interdisciplinary environment. You will need a combination of strong numeracy skills, technical expertise, analytical skills, and business acumen to support the efficient functioning of satellite systems, data management, and related processes. As a Systems Analyst you will collaborate to identify requirements, analyse systems performance, recommend improvements, and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Position Overview: Work with the engineering teams to define mission objectives, requirements, and constraints. Conduct orbit determination and trajectory analysis to optimise spacecraft trajectories, including launch, transfer, and insertion into target orbits. Evaluate orbital dynamics, perturbations, and constraints to ensure mission success. Assist coordination of payload activities, including payload selection, and interface verification. Define data processing requirements and algorithms for on-board and ground-based systems. Analyse mission data to extract scientific insights, monitor spacecraft health, and evaluate performance. Important Information: Must have Australian Permanent Residence or Australian citizenship. Access to technology controlled under USA ITAR is required so your nationality history may limit eligibility. Based in the Canberra office and is unsuitable for remote workers . Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required Tertiary level qualification in Aerospace Engineering, Astrophysics, or related field. 4-5 years experience in orbital mechanics, trajectory optimization, and spacecraft dynamics. Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems, payloads, and mission architectures. Proficiency in mission analysis tools and software, such as STK, MATLAB, or Python.
