Project Engineer - Planned Works — Dandenong, Greater Dandenong

Primary Location VIC - Dandenong Summary Be part of a new way forward for road network management in Victoria. We're looking for a Project Engineer - Planned Works to start mid May, based out of our Dandenong South depot. About the Role We're excited to have been awarded the Metropolitan Victorian Road Maintenance Contract - South Central Region. Starting in July this year, we'll be working across Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government. How you'll contribute: Reporting to the Planned Works Lead, Project Engineers contribute technical, engineering and site management expertise for planned maintenance and capital works tasks. Specifically, Project Engineers are accountable for: Using draft works programs, inspection and survey information, asset data, aerial photography, office-based visualisation tools and site visits to confirm scopes of work Working closely with the Pre-Works Lead to ensure planning of works delivery is accurate, confirm best resource type to deliver each work task has been selected and optimise works schedules across Planned and Routine Works Providing Project support and site management to ensure works are delivered in accordance with plan and schedule, and in compliance with all applicable risk controls Confirming and documenting job quality and completion via onsite inspections Contributing to continuous improvement in Planned Works Delivery processes In a typical week, you'll spend around 60% of your time in the field supporting and coaching Delivery teams to execute works to specification, program and cost. About you: You'll have at least three years' experience in capital works project planning and delivery in a road maintenance or civil works environment, delivering projects of up to $5 million in value. An emerging leader who drives for service excellence and continuous improvement, you'll demonstrate: Experience managing internal workforces and delivery partners to deliver services to specification, program and cost Formal Engineering qualifications Detailed knowledge of civil construction and/or road network management practices, including access, permit and licensing requirements for road maintenance operations Exceptional time-management skills and a proven ability to maintain effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders A proactive lead-indicator approach to minimising quality, safety and environmental risks and incidents Formal engineering qualifications (B.
