About the role The primary purpose of this role is to lead technical blasting engineering support, blasting project management, product stewardship and delivery of measurable value to our Customer on the largest clean energy project in NSW - Snowy 2.0. The successful candidate will interface with our Customer, providing technical solutions on the application of our products. Customers look to our Technical Services Engineers to solve practical blasting challenges, allowing our people to showcase their technical skills and create discreet solutions for clients. The roster will be 14 days on 14 days off and all accommodation and meals will be provided whilst on shift. What you will be doing Providing technical expertise to our team of Technical Services Engineers and our Customer in safe and efficient blasting practices in quarry, construction, and open-cut mining markets; Setting standards for developing blasting parameters and optimise site practices; Peer reviewing blasting designs and providing technical advice for improvements in the desired outcomes; Supporting training of Orica blasting systems/products and drill and blast practices to both Orica and customer operations and technical teams. What you will bring Degree qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Project Management, etc.) and extensive technical experience in underground mining or tunnelling environments; Advanced knowledge of the drill and blast process; Enthusiasm to mentor as a leading industry expert in drill & blast markets; Experience succeeding in Project Management and execution.
