Teacher and Head of Middle Years – Pastoral — Tallebudgera, Gold Coast South

The position is broken up into two components: The Head of Middle Years – Pastoral provides leadership, direction, and supervision for the Middle Years of the Secondary School. Delegated responsibility of the day-to-day pastoral management of the Middle Years (7-9) of the College. The Pastoral Leadership component will be a fixed term for 3 years (approximately 0.6 FTE). Middle School Teacher component is a permanent appointment . The candidate must have the ability to teach at least one of the following Middle Years core subjects – English, Maths, Science and HASS (approximately 0.4 FTE). The Pastoral role embraces both transformational and transactional leadership. Supported by the Deputy Principal Head of Secondary School/Principal the leadership component is responsible for: Promoting, developing and protecting the vision, beliefs, and ethos of the College. Promoting educational excellence in all aspects of College life. Pursuing the aims and projected outcomes of the College in the educational, cultural, physical, social and spiritual development of its students. Collaborating with the Senior Leadership team in promoting a culture of continual improvement and in the development and implementation of school improvement initiatives which support the strategic priorities. Overseeing and Developing the Pastoral Care program for Years 7-9 in consultation and collaboration with the Year Level Coordinators. Requirements: Must have a current Queensland College of Teacher registration (or be eligible for registration). Extensive classroom teaching experience at Secondary School levels, including the implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies and Middle Years (school) experience. Possess relevant tertiary qualifications Hold current Senior First Aid and CPR qualifications.
