About the company Privately owned medium-sized Steel Fabrication and Steel Sales business with a 15 year history in QLD. They have grown successfully over the years and have secured a dependable and consistent pipeline of customers and steel orders. They have their own workshop offering full Fabrication Services of Structural Steel and they also supply General Steel product sales of steel products including consumables and sundries. Their customers are mainly builders who develop residential dwellings and the products they fabricate include posts, stairs, beams, frames, balustrades, handrails and other structural steel items and metal works. About the role: As an Junior Estimator, you will hold a position in the front office. Responsibilities will range from maintaining customer relationships, preparing detailed quotes / estimates, producing workshop drawings through to visiting sites to make sure your Estimates are accurate. Liaising with Workshop staff assisting them in the fabrication process and managing jobs. Assessing Architectural, Engineering and Workshop drawings to help the Workshop staff and of course ensuring quality delivery to the customer. Requirements for this role: Some experience as an estimator with a Steel or Timber background would be a bonus. Experience preparing detailed Quotes and Estimates or eager to learn. An understanding of the building process. Demonstrated ability to understand Architectural and Engineering drawings. Drafting experience would be an advantage. Experience doing site visits.
