Part time Support Worker (Residential Youth Worker) | North Lakes — Mango Hill, Pine Rivers Area

About the Role YCSS currently has various part time roles located across our North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region placements – Kallangur to Caboolture however there is also the capacity for you to pick up additional shifts at our Western Suburbs & Ipswich placements – Bellbird Park to Yamanto if you are willing to travel. The part time positions that are currently available are 20 hours, 34 hours & 44 hours per fortnight. All part time positions include sleepover shifts and, in most cases, alternating weekends. The ability to pick up additional hours (when available) is also an option to all part time workers. As a Support Worker you will be required to: • Provide a high standard of practical support through therapeutic programs for Young People living in Residential Out-of-Home Care • Manage challenging and complex behaviours. • Provide support through daily routines, education, recreational lifestyle support, capacity building, home maintenance and hygiene. About You • You are resilient, confident, and able to maintain self-awareness in challenging situations. • You can build rapport quickly and maintain relationships. • You work well under pressure and can handle complex and challenging behaviours, historical trauma, and reactive attachment disorders. • Be prepared to work afternoons, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays. You will also need or being willing to obtain the following: • First Aid & CPR Certification • QLD Blue Card - Paid • Unrestricted QLD Drivers Licence • You MUST have a reliable Registered Motor Vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (Vehicle will need to be a minimum of a 4-door sedan to be able to safely transport children and young people if required) • Hope and Healing Course (this can be provided by YCSS) • Hold a Certificate IV or above in a Human Services, Community Services, Youth Services, or related field (Please refer to DCYJMA Minimum Qualification Standards for all Residential Care staff in Queensland) OR be enrolled and have commenced study/Minimal Qualification Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care) (or willing to enrol) Click the link provided for more information for Minimal qualification required https://www.dcssds.qld.gov.au/resources/dcsyw/about-us/partners/licensing/minimum-qualification-standards-information-sheet.pdf • Ability to complete and pass a Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women - Licensed Care Service Criminal History screening check – LCS2/LCS7 (Please note that this check can take up to 4 weeks to be processed).
