Service Delivery - Statewide Services Swimming and Water Safety Payroll and Administration Officer 00035770 Level 2, $70,432 - $75,516 per annum (PSCA 2022) Advertised Vacancy Number: DOE889497 This is a permanent full-time position commencing July 2024 Professional Benefits Working for the Department of Education attracts a range of attractive professional and personal benefits including: CONFIRM FOR SEA Agreement Positions 11 percent employer contributions to superannuation More than 20 days of other leave, including sick leave and carers' leave The Role and our Branch The Swimming and Water Safety branch is responsible for the management and implementation of the VacSwim and Interm Swimming programs which provide school children in Western Australia with an opportunity to participate in a safe, quality, comprehensive and progressive swimming and water safety program. The Payroll and Administration Officer will provide accurate and timely personnel, payroll and administration services to the section, including the creation and maintaining of employee records for all casual and temporary employees. The successful applicant will maintain an understanding of Interm and VacSwim programs procedures and guidelines. You will maintain and apply a current understanding of applicable industrial instruments, legislation, policy and procedures to personnel and payroll activities. The successful applicant will input commencements, job and personal data for all casual and temporary employees whilst undertaking screening validity checks prior to the appointment of employees. You will liaise with Program Coordinators - Swimming to ensure data is correct prior to processing, manipulate data and upload high volume electronic Interm and VacSwim swimming staff pay sheets onto the payroll system. Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria: Demonstrated experience in undertaking payroll duties in line with industrial instruments, including processing salaries for a variety of staff. Demonstrated well-developed data entry and computer skills including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing. Demonstrated initiative and sound organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and work independently and as part of a team.
