Data Engineer Job Summary Division Name: Information Management and Operational Systems Position No: 30172 Closing Date: 2024-04-26 5:00 PM Location: East Perth Job Type: Permanent - Full Time Salary: Level 5, SOA, $1005,89 - $117,334 pa plus 11% superannuation About the Job Data Engineer L5 - 30172 The Role The Data Engineer role within the Applications Development & Support branch provides technology leadership and participates in the planning and management of data systems and dataset build and maintenance to the PTA's standards of quality. This position analyses performance and availability of data systems, identifies problem areas, proposes and implements solutions to enhance these data systems and services and ensures knowledge sharing is embraced and practiced within the team. In this position, you will be responsible for providing direction, guidance and technical expertise to others and leading the gathering and translation of user requirements for data systems and datasets. About you The successful candidate will have well developed communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal) including the ability to develop a rapport with internal and external stakeholders and work in a customer focussed support and development team. To be considered for this role, you will have: Considerable progress toward or possession of an information technology related qualification or considerable recent experience in a technology role. Considerable knowledge and experience of contemporary data modelling, data mining and segmentation techniques and practices such as: Manages existing data sources; data structures; data names; and data relationships; Document reports including data sources, users and audience; Discover and assess alternate data needs and sources; Design, build and document data models; Identify and report on data issues and recommend remediation options; Design, document and implement data mart(s), ETL processes, reports, dashboards and cubes; Identify and scope potential new reports, dashboards and cubes. Considerable experience of IT Service Management processes and practices. Significant experience in data systems configuration and support. Well developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to analyse information and data and provide reports relating to the findings.
