Location: John Therry Catholic College, Rosemeadow John Therry Catholic College is a Catholic co-educational school situated in Rosemeadow in the city of Campbelltown and part of the Diocese of Wollongong. Established by the Marist Brothers the College maintains a strong Marist charism, tradition and affiliation with Marist Ministries. The College provides a wide curriculum to approximately 1006 students as we strive for academic success while offering many sporting, cultural and extracurricular opportunities. A temporary full time position commencing as soon as possible until 20 December 2024. The successful applicant will support teachers to meet the needs of diverse learners in a mainstream setting.  The role of the Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential. ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church. Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L. Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning. Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in KLA(s). Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning. Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community. DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA Experience adjusting class work and assessment activities for students with disabilities. Experience leading meetings with parents and carers to support student learning. Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting or a commitment to gaining qualifications in Special Education. Have experience in developing effective relationships with parents/carers and external agencies in order to develop personalised learning plans for students with disability.  Demonstrate an understanding of the Disability Standards for Education (DSE) 2005 and the processes integral to the annual Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). GENERAL CAPABILITIES Well-developed interpersonal skills. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Strong organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. QUALIFICATIONS Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s). Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting or a commitment to gaining qualifications in Special Education. Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW. The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA. WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
