The Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Risk Team is responsible for the development and management of HBAU's risk management framework across all WPB products, supporting the business and ensuring risk strategies are focused on maximising portfolio profitability across the full credit spectrum. We monitor and manage the WPB mortgage portfolio to formulate and implement automated decisioning strategies and credit policies, identifying opportunities for improvement of performance, customer experience and ultimately profit. This position does not manage any staff. Your main responsibilities will include: Create, manage and review the banks valuation strategies through the creation and enhancements of valuation models to optimise risk and reward. Through modelling and data insights, manage and increase the use of automated and Desktop valuations to optimise customer experience while enhancing and maintaining oversight over the model validation framework. Manage and review the banks valuation compliance and test controls framework, maintaining independent oversight of valuation quality and share key reporting with senior stakeholders. Support the mortgage underwriting team and the management of the Mortgage portfolio on security risk. Support local projects as SME on valuation and security related initiatives. Support the business with Group and local regulators to build out and embed a new Climate risk management framework. Support stress testing of the Mortgage Portfolio as an SME. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: 5 to 7 years modelling experience (5 yrs. minimum) in the financial sector including the creation and adoption of new models and management reporting. Analytical mindset with ability to trouble shoot and identify themes and resolve complex problems and issues. Experience in valuation strategy and or credit decisioning management within a banking environment will be highly desirable. Strong technical knowledge of local and global valuations industry standards and policies will be highly desirable. Demonstrated relationship building skills. Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
