Environmental Sustainability Design Manager / BASIX Manager — Sydney, Sydney Region

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you As Environmental & Sustainability Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in revolutionising the construction industry's approach to environmental responsibility. Your main focus will be to spearhead sustainability initiatives, ensuring that projects align with the highest standards of environmental stewardship. You'll collaborate closely with various departments, including architecture, engineering, construction, external vendors and consultants to integrate sustainable design principles into projects from inception to completion. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of environmentally conscious strategies Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable design elements into architectural plans, engineering solutions, and construction processes. Drive the use of eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient systems, and innovative technologies to minimise the environmental impact of projects. Monitor and consult with external ESD consultants to evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and maintaining positive commercial outcomes Track key metrics, make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvements Manage the delivery of essential reports and certifications including; BASIX, NABERS, NatHERS Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in environmental sustainability, bringing fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the table. Establish and maintain relationships with external consultants, vendors, and partners to ensure the successful execution of sustainability initiatives. Qualifications: Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in implementing sustainability strategies within the real-estate development / construction sector. Strong knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building certifications, and eco-friendly construction materials. Excellent project management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a passion for driving change and influencing others towards a more sustainable future.
