About the Centre/Service At Highmount Preschool, children are immersed in rich, authentic, and meaningful experiences that support connections with community, culture and nature. This is facilitated through positive relationships, intentional teaching, co-construction, and inspiring and engaging learning experiences. At Highmount Preschool, we are seeking an exceptional Early Childhood Teacher to lead our vibrant three-year-old group. We invite applicants that not only meet, but exceed the following essential criteria: Learning Curriculum: Excellent understanding of the VEYLDF/EYLF and NQS, and ability to apply them in practice Understanding of early childhood development and its importance in program planning Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate a holistic curriculum where each child's current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are the foundation of a play-based learning environment Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships with children, families and colleagues Understanding of the ECA Code of Ethics, VIT Code of Conduct, and Highmount Preschool's Code of Conduct Ability to effectively work collaboratively with an established team High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively listen actively and respond appropriately to children and families from diverse backgrounds Knowledge of Legislation: Excellent knowledge of the Education and Care National Law Act 2010, the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, and the National Quality Standards Excellent understanding of the purpose and expectation of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture Understanding of the Kindergarten Funding Guide Understanding of mandatory reporting requirements, CISS, FVISS and MARAM framework Cultural Responsiveness: Commitment to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in all aspects of the curriculum Ability to create an inclusive and welcoming learning environment that recognises and values the diverse backgrounds of all children, families and community Implementing an anti-bias approach, including social justice approaches Commitment to Reconciliation, and actively contribute to our Reconciliation Action Plan Professionalism and Ethics: Demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct in interactions with children, families and colleagues Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards at all times Comply with and maintain Highmount Preschool's policies and procedures Commitment to Continuous Learning: Committed to ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills Demonstrate articulation in modern early childhood pedagogy and practice If you are ready to inspire, educate and make a positive difference in the lives of young children, we’d love to hear from you Please email your resume and cover letter, responding to the essential criteria, to [email protected] Highmount Preschool is committed to diversity and equal opportunity.
