Senior Property Accountant, Retail — The Rocks, Sydney

The role The Senior Property Accountant is an integral member of the Retail Finance team, providing high quality financial and management reporting for a diverse portfolio of retail assets. The team is at the core of all Asset Management finance activities for the Retail portfolio and provides accurate, timely and meaningful information to assist in the management of the groups assets and to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements. Working closely with the Divisional Finance Manager, the role encompasses all areas of reporting including: month end reporting, debtors, budget and forecasting, outgoings reconciliations, profit and loss review, balance sheet reconciliations, management of audit requests and enquiries and preparation of disclosure information. Please note - this is a 10 month fixed term contract. What you will be doing Month-end, half and full year end reporting Preparing the month end workbooks including accruals, base rent reconciliations and other income workbooks Providing variance analysis of actual spend against budget/forecast and comments on year to date performance of the assets Preparing the valuation packs for the Investment Manager team Balance sheet reconciliations Assisting in the forecasting and budgeting process All other adhoc tasks as required including process improvement, investigations of calculations/GL balances and trend analysis. What makes you stand out To be successful in this role you will have relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with previous Accounting experience. Big 4 experience will be held in high regard. Moreover, you will have commenced your CA/CPA studies. You will have strong Excel skills as well as the ability to work to strict deadlines. You will be a strong team player with a customer focused and problem solving mindset. Moreover, you will have solid interpersonal skills and the ability to establish strong relationships with business stakeholders.
