(URD) Lighting & Electrical Design Manager — Melbourne, Melbourne Region

Lead and manage a team of specialist project engineers in delivering high-quality lighting and electrical designs for lighting infrastructure. The Role The Lighting & Electrical Design Manager reports to the General Manager of Design and is required to lead and manage a team of specialist project engineers in delivering high-quality lighting and electrical designs for lighting infrastructure across Victoria and NSW. This role requires a dynamic, achievement-focused leader who can balance the effective, timely, high quality and profitable delivery of design services with relationship management of key clients and the growth of new business opportunities. Projects will include lighting and electrical designs for street lighting and other outdoor lighting infrastructure for clients such as Municipal Councils, Civil Consultants, Road authorities and major infrastructure projects. The Lighting & Electrical Design Manager is a part of the leadership team and will also collaborate closely with the Distribution Design and Major Projects teams to deliver integrated solutions to customers. Key Responsibilities Lead a highly capable and engaged electrical design team Own and deliver on financial budgets to achieve Gross Profit targets Oversee the delivery of best practice design works safely, within budget and to timelines and quality objectives Manage team performance to achieve agreed safety, financial, people, growth and customer targets Prepare and deliver strategic resource plans to ensure capacity Lead a culture of continuous improvement for all design functions including processes, systems and methodologies Proactively manage customers and stakeholders such as utilities, developers, consultants and contractors. Mentor, coach and develop design staff within the team Develop and deliver new business opportunities and business improvement initiatives. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering. At least 5 years of demonstrated electrical design experience within the electricity distribution Experience in leading a team Experience in a service delivery or consulting business managing customers including account management & business development Hold or be eligible to hold RPEV accreditation Skilled in AS3000 and VESI design.
