About the Centre/Service Estrella Preschool, set within the leafy surrounds of Watson Park in Ashburton, provides high-quality, government funded 3- and 4-year-old sessional kindergarten curriculums. Description A rare and wonderful opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated, community-minded teacher to lead our 3yo kindergarten program. Estrella is seeking a passionate and professional Early Childhood Teacher who intentionally cultivates children’s sense of wonderment and belonging with the world around them. Our ideal candidate will have experience in supporting children’s learning and development through play and inquiry, with a focus on respectful and nurturing relationships and the sharing of thinking and ideas. Apply now and let’s learn and grow together Position Outline The successful applicant will:  Have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with teachers and educators, children and families, the Committee of Management and other stakeholders.  Be highly organised, enthusiastic and have an excellent knowledge of early childhood education.  Have a family centred approach to ensuring the best outcomes for children.  Provide inclusive, culturally appropriate, and antibias curriculum and care for kindergarten aged children.  Implement routines that respect children's agency, encourage independence, and foster individuality.  Incorporate a Nature Play program into the curriculum and support our sustainable living principles and practices, including learning about conservation.  Work cooperatively and collaboratively within a team of educators and teachers, supporting your colleagues and team leader.  Role model best practice and show enthusiastic commitment to continuous quality improvement.  Maintain ongoing documentation of curriculum and children’s learning and development records, including observations and other data, assessments, planning and reflection. Additional notes and considerations:  Previous experience teaching in a sessional Kindergarten is preferred.  Experience or interest in running bush kinder programs will be highly valued.  A detailed position description is available upon request.
