Apprentice Electrician — Wollert, Whittlesea Area

Brickworks VIC are seeking an Apprentice Electrician with a passion for learning and a proven interest in the electrical field, to join our Austral Bricks Plant in Wollert, Victoria. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be trained to be responsible for safely and efficiently performing emergency, project and preventative maintenance activities for Electrical equipment, instruments, infrastructure and control systems. You will be trained to perform the following duties: Evaluate maintenance work orders, set priorities and process work assignments. Conduct routine inspections of all systems and equipment. Conduct routine repair work and other work of a general maintenance nature. Diagnose and test wiring faults by using electronic equipment. Develop a functional understanding of all essential building systems to ensure they are operating correctly and efficiently. Review wiring diagrams and blueprints to determine sequences and methods of operation. Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner, compliant with WHSE policies and procedures. Success Requirements Enrolled in or willingness to enrol in an accredited apprenticeship program. Basic understanding of electrical systems and components. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively. Ability to work on shift rosters, including overtime as required. Strong attention to detail. Sound computer skills. Your own transport is essential due to the lack of public transportation to the plant. Why join us?
