Senior Solution Designer — The Rocks, Sydney

How will I help? We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Designer to join a high performing team to provide a strategic direction of technology investments. As a Senior Solution designer, you use your expertise to understand the business context and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, teams and assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximise the return on technology investment. What you will do Review, interpret and respond to detailed user stories/ business requirements specifications (BRS) to ensure alignment between customer expectations and current or future Digital capabilities and the strategic plan Define and design technology solutions to assist the business in meeting their business objectives including technology solutions and changes to service, process and/or operating models Develop and implement technology solutions to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and to agreed timeframes Design and delivery of projects from inception through functional analysis of user stories/requirements, the approval process for business case development, project execution and operational handover to align technological solutions and transform the processes and systems to Specifying APIs and translate logical designs into physical designs taking account target environment, performance & security requirements, and existing systems. Provide in-depth technical leadership and guidance for the API delivery and governance teams to ensure compliance with existing Architecture Standards. Leading the review of work (individual and team) and providing guidance, advice and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required Quick POC development for technical solution feasibility using prototyping tools where necessary. Leading the investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of performance issues for APIs and web services. What's in it for me? Knowledge on various emerging technologies including past experience in developing customer facing web application design to better serve our customer and business needs Strong experience in preparing large/complex solutions and Design. Extensive experience developing and enhancing enterprise Java applications with a significant integration footprint Proven ability to lead complex product integrations initiatives involving multiple interfaces Must have strong ability to build consensus with the teams Significant Agile experience and experience leading an agile team Excellent spoken and written communication Strong problem solving / analytical skills Demonstrated understanding of application performance and capacity concerns. Required Skills: 5 years of experience in using Java based technologies 3 years of experience in developing APIs and Web Services (SOAP and REST including Security implementations) 3 years of experience using Hibernate Spring framework and SQL database Proven experience with DevOps framework and toolset. Hands on experience in developing CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo and Jenkins Strong understanding of Test Automation Expert level knowledge in design patterns Desired Skills: Experience in Kubernetes and Dockers in AWS environment Experience in workflow automation - BPM/BAW Understanding of infrastructure / hosting platform will be an added benefit What is it like to work in Westpac?
