About Tombolo Academy Tombolo Academy is a unique specialist setting that caters for highly capable neurodiverse (twice exceptional) students aged 8-16 who have previously found it challenging to learn and engage in a mainstream setting. We provide a calm, safe and stimulating learning environment where students feel comfortable to fail and face their challenges with the support of caring and understanding staff members. About the role As the first point of contact for anyone visiting or calling the school, this position plays a crucial role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere within our school community. Duties include: • Managing the reception area of the School, including general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth function of Reception. • Welcoming and greeting all appointments, visitors, and guests in a friendly and professional manner. • Answering incoming calls and emails, responding to inquiries, and directing calls as necessary. • Maintaining a clean and organised reception area, ensuring a presentable and welcoming environment. • Providing administrative support to various departments within the school as required. • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with utmost professionalism. The ideal applicant will have: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. • A friendly and approachable demeanour. • Excellent administration and customer service skills. • Strong prioritisation, multitasking and organisation skills. • The ability to work independently as well as a member of a team. • The ability to form strong and meaningful relationships with families and students. • A high standard of personal presentation. Essential requirements • Previous experience in a receptionist or front desk role. • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite • Current Working with Children Clearance • Current Criminal Record Check • Legally entitled to work in Australia.
