Officer Children & Family Services Development (Part time, 14hrs per week) — Katoomba, Blue Mountains

Please note, it is unrelated to your application This role is responsible for assessing and documenting the needs of children and families as part of Council’s community planning processes, as well as planning, facilitating, and providing input into the development of services, facilities, policies and other initiatives for children and families in the Blue Mountains which addresses identified needs and supports the achievement of the Community Strategic Plan Sustainable Blue Mountains. This will be done in partnership with relevant local and regional forums, State and Federal Government, local community organizations and residents of the local area. Also responsible for providing an Interface with external stakeholders and Council that impact on the functioning. You will have: • Extensive experience working with children and families • An understanding of issues relating to improving the quality of life of children and families • Ability to provide specialist advice and expertise relating to issues affecting children and families • Highly developed project management skills, needs assessment and analytical research skills. • Ability to develop, evaluate and prioritise programs, projects and policies. • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal and a proven ability to liaise effectively with other professionals in a range of disciplines inside and outside of Council. • Highly developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills. • Demonstrated experiences in large and small group facilitation methods. • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, pertaining to children and families, engaging multiple stakeholders with the community service sector and at all levels of Government. • Demonstrated ability to actively participate as part of a team and contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of team outcomes. • Well-developed computer skills. • Demonstrated ability to deliver public presentations • Commitment to and an understanding of Occupational Health and Safety, and Equal Employment Opportunity principles and practices.
