It is an Extra Service facility and thereby provides additional ‘hotel’ type services or lifestyle extras, including higher standards of accommodation and increased activities, entertainment, and food choices. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Executive Chef, this person is responsible for the delivery of meals to residents at the premium level of service expected by the Cranbrook Care. You will oversee the presentation of the dining room including table settings, linen, cutlery and decoration. You will manage staff to serve all meals including morning and afternoon tea. You will develop a trusting relationship with residents and ensure that mealtime is enjoyable and sensitive to the diverse needs of individual residents. Finally, you will provide a communications link between care services and the kitchen plus provide feedback to the chef based on observances of meal services. We are looking for people who will: Oversee and manage the presentation of the dining room to ensure the food safety and premium service standards expected by Cranbrook Care are met. Oversee the service of meals in the dining room to be sensitive to resident preferences, religious and cultural backgrounds; to promote opportunities for social interactions; and to maximise resident enjoyment in meals Provide a communication link between care services and the kitchen to support ongoing outstanding care for residents Provide feedback on meals and resident enjoyment of meals to the Executive Chef Live the Cranbrook Care culture and work according to Cranbrook Care values The facility operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year with shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. This is a Full Time position however we are open to Part Time applications. ABOUT YOU You will most likely come from restaurant, hotel or premium aged care background and be familiar delivering exceptional food service. You have a kind and compassionate nature with the ability to deal with sensitive issues in a professional, respectful and caring manner. You are an excellent communicator with second-to-none customer service skills. If you love working with people, are a quick learner, and pride yourself on getting things done right the first time, then this role is for you To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes: Skills & Qualifications 1 year experience working in the kitchen of a medium/large organisation or food service in a high service restaurant Experience working in a team environment Fluent spoken English and literate in English Previous experience in the health industry desirable Knowledge and understanding of infection control desirable Knowledge and understanding of Work, Health and Safety Legislation desirable Personal attributes Good interpersonal and communication skills and a responsible approach to work procedures High attention to detail Client service focus - Commitment to delivering an exceptional level of service Initiative Ability to work under limited supervision, follow procedures and complete set tasks to an appropriate quality standard Time management skills ABOUT US Cranbrook Care aims to be the premier provider of quality residences, care and lifestyle services.
