Project Engineer — Newcastle Region, New South Wales

About the role Your role as a Project Engineer is all about working with your team to achieve the delivery of safe, profitable, timely and quality projects. You’ll have a chance to run your own projects or be a critical part of a larger project team, and receive specialist training in contracts, risk management, programming and services so you can grow your career. And you’ll get to work on site as well as the office. You can also look forward to: Assisting with the delivery of multiple projects from pre-construction through to defect liability and handover Delivering projects in accordance with building specs and standards Helping with the management of contractual requirements Managing tender interviews and letting of contracts, including subcontractor negotiations in conjunction with the Project Manager Managing our project delivery systems and EHSQ responsibilities Supporting the management of the financial responsibilities of our projects Helping to generate detailed construction programmes Why we’re a great place to work We’re proud to be recognised for the culture we’ve built with a Great Place to Work Certification. About you Building-related degree or diploma, or a trade background Experience working for a principal contractor in a similar role Strong financial acumen and communication skills Ability to build and maintain effective relationships Good understanding of project management within the construction industry (fitout and refurbishment experience would be a plus) Understanding of specifications and drawings for accuracy and buildability Sound knowledge of EHSQ principles Plenty of flexibility and adaptability Solid grasp of MS Project, Word, Excel and Outlook.
