Planning Engineer Date: 4 Apr 2024 Location: Perth, AU Monday to Friday - Perth Airport location with free parking Be recognised for your contribution - performance bonuses and incentives Outstanding opportunity to work with a high performing iron ore business Gain broad exposure across the full mining value chain About the role Roy Hill is currently seeking a Planning Engineer to join the Technical Services team based at our Remote Operations Centre located near the Perth Airport. The Planning Engineer will ensure the business is able to execute upon business objectives through detailed, practical mine development which supports production of a low variability high grade product to customers. Duties Develop and publish regular revisions of the pit optimisations based on changing mine costs, economic parameters and sales requirements which optimise profit Develop detailed medium-term plans, ensuring compliance to approved LOM/Budget Develop and collaborate pit/stage development sequences with the integrated scheduling and mining teams to assist plan conformance and productive operations Ensure all pit, haul road, stockpile and waste dump (inclusive of in-pit back-fill) designs comply with company design standards and geotechnical parameters Skills and experience Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related discipline Demonstrated operational experience in the mining industry Experience of mine planning in an open cut, load & haul operation, developing and maintaining operational budgets Advanced computing skills including mining software (Vulcan, Alastri and other mine planning tools) Perth ROC Facilities Free on-site parking at remote operational centre (ROC) Modern spacious office with break-out facilities In-house café providing variety of hot & cold food options and barista coffee Flexi Leave available to all Perth based office staff Flexible working hours outside of core business hours Active social club with community events and activities for employees Lifestyle, Learning and Recreation initiative which provide events for your family About Roy Hill Roy Hill is a world class mining company, leading the way through innovative, integrated mining rail and port operations, to export iron ore safely and efficiently from West Australia's Pilbara region.
