Join us in our exciting quest to build the future home About The Role The main tasks of your role will be divided between electronic & mechanical tasks and that includes, investigating and implementing cost and quality improvements to the existing product range and support the design and development of new products according to the requirements of the Generation Plan. Collaborating with the Global Electronics team to integrate global electronics into local products. You will be responsible for ensuring products satisfy key functionality, safety, and compliance with technical standards. You will be contributing as a part of a larger team but should be able to work autonomously as required. What You'll Do Participate in configuring global electronics for use in local products. Contribute to SW walkthrough meetings in order to ensure SW quality is at the state-of-art. Support execution of SW test plan and creation of SW test report, in collaboration with SW testers, if requested. Design, develop and modify components and finished assemblies. Construct 3D CAD models and create detailed drawings for wiring harness and related mechanical parts using CATIA software. Coordinate the prototyping, performance and quality verification, tooling quotation, part cost quotation, sourcing, production trialling and approval of components and finished assemblies. Prepare Hardware and Software prototypes, test and validate those available tools (debuggers, etc.) Liaise with appropriate departments including Global Electronics team, Quality, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering. Construct and update BOM's (Bill of Materials) and ECN's (Engineering Change Notices) Coordinate and assist in the introduction of components and assemblies into production. Follow up and rectify problems found with components and assemblies. Participate in Project Teams Participate in FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) Prepare timing plans and risk assessments. The project management, progress tracking and the reporting of project status Support the introduction and ramp-up of new models into production Who You Are You hold a Degree Qualification in Mechatronics/Electronics Engineering or similar. University graduates with one year post grad work experience will be considered. Sound knowledge of electronics, schematics, programming & scripting Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle Knowledge of engineering concepts and materials Sound understanding of quality assurance principles (8D, 6 Sigma) Knowledge of local product approval standards Testing methodologies (DOE, statistical methodologies) Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills Sound understanding of and ability to design using CAD Competencies Agile - You work with urgency, analysing and adapting to different situations, quickly understanding changes and reacting confidently and decisively. You are capable of managing multiple projects at the same time. Analytical - With an eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex data, you can also translate this into meaningful, useful information that informs decision-making.
