Exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant based at the School of Rural Health in Orange, NSW Contract until December 2024 Casual (minimum 2 days per week) $52.80 per hour About the opportunity The School of Rural Health (SRH) has been delivering long term rural placements for The University of Sydney year 3 and 4 medical students in Orange and Dubbo for over 20 years. In 2022, The University of Sydney commenced delivery of its four-year graduate entry Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program in two streams; a Metropolitan stream based on the University's Camperdown campus in Sydney, and a Dubbo stream based at the School of Rural Health in Dubbo. The SRH has a position available for a suitably experienced Administrative Assistant, to provide reception and general administrative support to the SRH in Orange, NSW. The role will report to the Administration Manager based in Orange. This position is located at Orange. Travel within Orange may be required of this position. Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide general reception and office support to the SRH. Coordinate meetings (including drafting agendas and minute-taking) and diaries. Support coordination of events and catering. Support travel and accommodation bookings for staff including management of fleet vehicle bookings. Coordinate internal and external room bookings. Provide general facilities management and support for Work Health and Safety practices and activities. Maintain records, provide finance/accounting support including payment, invoice management and purchasing. Support web-based applications and content updates as required. About you Have a Certificate IV in Business Administration and/or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience in administration. Advanced computer skills including the MS Office suite. Demonstrated experience in the tertiary education sector. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload. Well developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills. Numeracy skills together with experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking, and managing invoice payments and purchases. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service.
