Individual Needs Teacher — Glen Waverley, Monash Area

Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana, Lochend and a Year 9 residential campus at Clunes. We are seeking passionate, innovative and engaging Individual Needs teacher for a part time (0.5 FTE) position based at our Glen Waverley Campus. This position is a leave replacement position for Term 3, 2024. Individual Needs teachers seek to optimise the learning outcomes for students with additional learning needs. This will involve assessing students' needs, liaising with internal and external professionals where necessary, and developing and coordinating an appropriate program. Post-graduate tertiary qualifications in special education are essential as the position will involve the administration of restricted assessments. Experience with Years 10-12 will be highly regarded. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about teaching and have the ability to provide an engaging program to the students using contemporary teaching methods. Demonstrated high level classroom teaching skills and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning are essential.
