About the Role Based in the Brisbane office, with regular site visit requirements, this position is responsible for the oversight and management of Development Execution's (DevEx) construction, commissioning, and initiation endeavours, spanning Eastern Queensland and Narrabri. This is a pivotal position within Santos, leading a cohort of construction supervisors, engineers, commissioning operators, and technicians, entrusted with the seamless execution of new well pad leases, flowlines, and facilities crucial for the establishment and commencement of oil or gas wells. Key accountabilities include: Demonstrate proactive leadership, influencing direct reports and contracted personnel, imparting a steadfast dedication to safety, cultural heritage preservation, and environmental stewardship. Foster strong communication with all stakeholders, championing safety protocols, environmental preservation, cultural heritage reverence, land access protocols, and third-party permit requisites. Actively participate in promoting a vibrant team culture, encouraging cohesion, collaboration, and support. Promote a culture of cost-efficiency within Santos, scrutinizing & challenging processes to advance the pursuit of operational economy. Initiate and oversee variation requests directed towards contracted entities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory mandates. Proactively mitigate the risk of construction or operational schedule deviations, pre-emptively addressing potential obstacles to optimize workflow continuity. Provide hands-on oversight to ensure adherence to high-quality installation standards through rigorous site inspections. Challenge conventional norms and continuously refine operational methodologies to enhance efficiency and efficacy. Spearhead the preparation and presentation of comprehensive senior management reports, providing insightful analysis and strategic recommendations. Exercise authoritative oversight as the Site Safety Manager and Permit Safety Authority for DevEx assets, ensuring unwavering adherence to regulatory mandates and organizational imperatives. About You We are looking for a proven self-starter to deliver value through technical expertise and team management. Your committed leadership, excellent interpersonal skills and alignment with Santos values is integral to your success in this role, along with: Extensive years of experience in Oil and Gas, mining or construction industry and demonstrated years of experience in leadership, or asset management. Proven experience building and leading a high performing culture and inclusive teams in separated geographic zones. Highly organised with well-developed communication and project management skills. The ability to develop strategy, influence and align stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive performance through operating disciplines to achieve great results. Demonstrate significant training and experience within directly relevant roles, within large corporate environments. Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or MBA highly desirable, as are CPEng and RPEQ.
