Legal Support Officer Full Time, Fixed Term - Up to 12 months The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in a legal environment to join our legal practice in our Melbourne location. The role of Legal Support Officer offers many opportunities for learning and development in a supportive and collaborative environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, a Legal Support Officer is expected to work closely and collaboratively with the administration team and solicitors within the division to provide legal and administrative support to ensure that operational requirements are met. Flexible working arrangements will be considered, up to 4 days per week (maximum). About the Role: Provide administrative support and, under direction, provide legal support to solicitors. Liaising with stakeholders including Corrections Victoria, counsel, police, legal personnel and other government agencies. Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement within the division, including participation in team meetings, projects, and new initiatives to improve processes. Prepare correspondence and documentation for Court. As our ideal candidate you will have: A demonstrated ability to provide administrative support to professional staff in a complex, confidential and sensitive environment. Sound communication skills, and an ability to maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders. Administrative experience working within a legal environment. This role is not suited to candidates who have been admitted to practice as a lawyer. For more information please refer to the attached Position Description.
