Temporary up to 30/6/25 and part-time working 22.5 hours per week other similar roles up to full time are to be also available at the RAH and applicants can be considered through this process About the role The Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Mental Health Clinical Program is made up of a range of multidisciplinary teams providing recovery-focussed clinical services to consumers. These teams include inpatient and sub-acute, community and rehabilitation teams in youth, adult and older persons' services. The Senior Social Worker is an experienced mental health clinician who provides clinical services to patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH). The Senior Social Worker provides skilled evidence based professional Social Work services to consumers, their families and carers. The focus will be on consumers with primarily psychosocial issues to provide assessments and interventions that will facilitate and optimise discharge to the community. The Senior Social Worker will complete a range of clinical Social Work duties such as conducting complex and comprehensive assessments of consumer needs, contribute to the development of formulations, as well as developing, implementing and monitoring specialised and targeted individual interventions. The Senior Social Worker will work closely with mental health and general staff in the ED, mental health acute units and mental health community teams. The Senior Social Worker provides discipline specific assessments, interventions and consultancy service to the ED teams. The Senior Social Worker will liaise closely with a network of government and non-government organisations to facilitate referrals where there is a need for review and follow-up to facilitate improved functioning and community tenure. The Senior Social Worker roster may include rotation to other mental health teams to assist with work life balance. Qualifications Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
