Key operational role for an experienced Electrician Working with a well-established and knowledgeable team Opportunity for future growth and career development within Opal Discover the Opportunity We have an opportunity available as an Electrician to support our Fibre Packaging business in Launceston. Opal Fibre Packaging Australia supplies a wide range of innovative corrugated packaging solutions to a broad range of market segments that includes FMCG, fruit and produce, protein, dairy, dry goods, wine, beverage, and industrial manufacturers. In this role, you will ensure all site maintenance and corrective tasks are carried out to ensure reliability of plant and equipment. You will also be required to support and undertake maintenance and engineering projects to continuously improve both the capability and reliability of the business. Your primary function is to maintain machinery, equipment, and services on site to achieve optimum production and customer service. You will contribute to the success of Opal by: Use of trade skills to provide a quality and timely maintenance service. Actively participate in the development, promotion, implementation and compliance to all Company’s Health Safety & Environment strategy and policies Playing a key role within a team focused on the development and execution of efficient preventative maintenance and continuous improvement practices on the site using SAP. Provide technical support, problem solving and continuous improvement to support production and other maintenance and engineering initiatives. Participate in improvement plans across the commercial team around reporting improvements, standardisation across the region and budget/forecasting process enhancements. Specifically for this role, we expect you will have; Hold a current Electrical Practitioner Licence (TAS) Be a motivated, self-starter; with a professional attitude A strong commitment to WHS and Safety A team player Understanding of maintenance work planning and scheduling procedures Experience and understanding of electrical systems to analyse, troubleshoot and solve problems which may include but not limited to: PLC experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens) SCADA systems ABB automation systems AC and DC motors Safety interlocks and controls Variable speed drives Read and understand electrical drawings. Pneumatics and Hydraulic systems Opal’s first and foremost value is safety, therefore a strong personal safety ethic is required. Skills/Knowledge in JSEA, Risk Assessments, Working Permits, LOTO.
