If this is what drives you too, then come join our team Boart Longyear continues to experience strong demand for its Mobile Automation equipped Drill Rigs and is now looking for an Automation Controls Technician, based in Adelaide SA to join the Workshop / Automation Engineering team on a full-time basis. As an Automation Technician our ideal candidate will have a keen interest for continuous learning and producing safe, reliable, and maintainable, PLC control systems to meet client's requirements within the Mining sector. The successful applicant will be required to provide remote support to new technology / equipment within areas of automation, wireless communications, and remote-control units. Typical day-to-day tasks include: - Provide tier 2 technical support to engineering staff, management staff, and operations. - Diagnose, repair and fault find all automation related equipment. - Assist engineering staff in the management and commissioning of projects to achieve optimal reliability, availability, and the required levels of performance. - Input to Preventative, corrective, and recommended maintenance, and documentation. - Electrical installation works - Offsite remote support As the ideal candidate you will have experience in a lot of the following areas: - Qualified A Class Electrician with experience in Automation & Control Systems. - Proficient in 12v/24v electrical systems. - Electrical installation works and assisting with commissioning projects. - Working with customers both onsite and remotely. - Effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. - Occasional Field Service and breakdown support for a range of surface and underground drill rigs. - Input to preventative, corrective, and recommended maintenance, and documentation. - Planning the layout of electrical systems. - Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical diagrams, drawings, and specifications. - Installing electrical systems in a range of surface and underground drill rigs. - Conducting fault finding, testing, repairs, and maintenance work on electrical systems. - Solid working knowledge of PLC systems including simple administration. - Good skills access MS Office Suite. - Methodical with high-level problem-solving skills. A few other things we're looking for: - A strong commitment to safety and a safe working environment. - Must have industrial or PLC controlled mobile machinery electrical experience. - Electrical installation and commissioning experience. - Commitment to customer satisfaction. - A-Grade Electrical Licence (preferable but not essential). - Australian Driver's Licence. - Must have full Australian working rights. - Must be able to pass a National Criminal History check and pre-employment medical.
