Play a pivotal role in ensuring the secure and efficient operation of technologies within the Network and Security Operations framework. 792 Super / Day Contract until 31/12/2024 State Government Client Play a pivotal role in ensuring the secure and efficient operation of technologies within the Network and Security Operations framework as the Firewall Administrator. Your responsibilities encompass maintaining compliance with global firewall security policy requirements and conducting thorough audits of firewall policies. Key Accountabilities: Configure and maintain Checkpoint, Juniper routers, firewalls, and other network equipment, ensuring the security and integrity of information and assets. Implement and enforce security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, to safeguard data. Manage upgrades and migrations of firewall and inter-agency communications infrastructure, prioritizing the protection of information and assets. Enable secure remote access to data by designing, implementing, and overseeing various Virtual Private Network (VPN) architectures aligned with operational requirements. Provide comprehensive support, consulting, auditing, and forensic services related to information security, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and best practices while maintaining 24x7 coverage for First and 2nd level support as needed. Key Experience Required: Expertise in core IT operations infrastructure systems, understanding security policy impact, and providing guidance on security architectural design for new system development. Proven ability to analyze and address real-world IT security threats efficiently, with a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) qualification. Certification in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Checkpoint Certified Security Professional (CCSP), with advantageous Juniper Networks certifications (JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIP). Hands-on experience in administering Juniper-based network solutions, strong knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPsec), and familiarity with network monitoring tools. Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, capable of working independently or collaboratively in a team, with a commitment to network security best practices. NOTE You MUST be located in NSW to be eligible for this opportunity, and willing to attend the office when required.
