Exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to be part of Australia's leading shipbuilder for defense Collar Group is representing Australia's global shipbuilder, defence prime contractor and maritime technology partner of choice. Our client is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join and become apart of their dynamic team. Security Clearance roles only: Due to the Security Clearance required for this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance. Key Objectives & Responsibilities: Ensure the production of precise information and documentation that adheres to procedural and audit standards. Meet work deadlines while maintaining the integrity of construction deliverables. Maintain awareness of task schedules, regularly monitoring progress and upcoming deliverables. Complete tasks within or ahead of schedule without sacrificing quality. Coordinate design inputs from third-party sources such as drawings, certification, and manuals. Organize all files and paperwork systematically, ensuring easy traceability and keeping records up to date. Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work. Uphold high standards of quality consistent with companies Design standards. Execute tasks in accordance with approved processes and procedures. Minimize rework to the greatest extent possible. Required Skills / Experience / Attributes: Essential: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Mechatronics). Strong comprehension of LV & ELV power generation and distribution systems. Proficiency in electrical engineering calculations, including Short Circuit and Battery calculations. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD. Thorough understanding of production methods and practical application of design principles. Possession of a Construction Safety Induction (white card) Desirable: Previous experience in a similar role, involved in designing electrical systems for both aluminium and steel vessels. Basic understanding of typical ship mechanical systems, particularly their functionalities and their interface with electrical systems. Sound practical knowledge of regulatory bodies' rules and regulations, with the ability to communicate effectively with them as needed. More than three years of relevant experience. Why Collar Group?
