Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH887540 Appointment Pool Peel Language Development School (PLDS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and enthusiastic Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 and 2025 school years. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year up until the end of Term 4, 2025. PLDS is an Independent Public School which opened on 4 February 2002. It is the first purpose built facility for early language intervention in Western Australia. The concept of a 'school within a school’ is unique within the educational landscape of Western Australia. Fostering close co-operation and collaboration between the school and its communities provides opportunities for inclusive planning and the delivery of this unique concept. In 2012, PLDS further enhanced its scope with the incorporation of the Statewide Speech and Language Service (SWSLS). This Outreach service provides support to schools and teachers by strengthening the language expertise available to primary school students. PLDS caters for a population of approximately 280 students who have a Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). This refers to children who have moderate to severe difficulties in learning language. Our educators are committed to providing specialised language and academic intervention on a whole class, individual and small group basis. PLDS accepts students from our specific catchment area within the Peel Region and is located across four sites where we share facilities with co-located primary schools enabling PLDS students and their families to integrate with our host school communities. Suitable applicants from this pool may be required to work at any one of the Peel campuses currently located at Mandurah Primary School, Bungaree Primary School, Pinjarra Primary School and Rockingham Lakes Primary School. Teachers, Education Assistants and Speech Pathologists work within a highly collaborative model to develop and deliver specialised programs for students. A genuine commitment to the Peel school community and our Business Plan is required. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
