Develop and implement internal communication plans and strategies and create supporting materials to promote branch and region initiatives. Provide information, advice and assistance to colleagues and senior management, leading to outcomes which enhance the reputation of the region and the department. Liaise with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to identify and address communication needs and develop and implement tactics to support the business and mitigate risks. Provide expert advice, training and support to staff on issues management, communication strategies and to build communication capability for delivering projects and initiatives. Actively support and contribute to staff development and performance of the Governance and Design team. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of projects and activities across the branch, department and external environment to proactively identify and mitigate communication risks which may affect staff or customers. Develop and maintain relationships with the department's internal communication functions to facilitate cooperative, coordinated and enhanced communication outcomes for the department. Mandatory qualifications and conditions Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Requirements of the role Oversee the day-to-day team management of the team to ensure activities and outputs are delivered to a high standard within required timeframes. Lead and coordinate communication materials for the branch and region, including graphic design scheduling and management of external suppliers to support engagement activities and communication related production, and administrative and procurement processes. Lead, manage and coordinate the region's program reporting requirements and systems, providing strategic advice on complex enquiries and driving process improvements. Draft, edit and review communication materials across a variety of internal and external channels, tailoring the style to suit the audience and ensuring it complies with the department's style guide, accessibility guidelines and applicable corporate standards. A degree in communications, journalism or public relations, or a minimum of five years' experience in a communications role would be highly desirable.
