Our Opportunity To support our ongoing growth, NEPEAN Conveyors NSW are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, based in our design office located in Brendale, approx. 40 minutes north of Brisbane City CBD. In this facility you will work with a team of project managers, engineers, designers on projects large and small. Daily duties typically include Designing and modelling bulk material handling equipment such as support structures, platforms, winches and chutes. Engineering calculations to design conveyor systems and ensure compliance with the appropriate codes & Australian standards. Create concept designs, layouts and scopes of work for completion in collaboration with the design/drafting team Creating shop detail drawings and assembly drawings of conveyor equipment. Checking designs for achievable tolerances, clear dimensioning, weldability, and constructability. Opportunity to take ownership of the engineering phase of projects to ensure drawings and documentation deliverables are completed on time, on budget, to the scope and at the right quality. The Right Person The ideal candidate for this position would have: A bachelor’s degree or diploma of engineering in a mechanical discipline A genuine passion for mechanical engineering and problem solving High attentional to detail Excellent communication skills Full working rights in Australia Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word Proficiency in CAD software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor Experience in a design engineering or project engineering role would be well regarded.
