What you will do Working within Information and Technology Partners (ITP), you will be a member of the DBA and Spatial Support team. The team is responsible for delivering high quality application support and maintenance of application databases for the department and partner agencies.This role would suit a Database Administrator who is interested in delivering and developing high quality application Database Administration Services to a diverse and distributed client base.As our Database Administrator, you will:- Monitor and respond to scheduled processes, analysing logs and responding, as necessary.- Design databases and changes to database schemas.- Deploy changes to production applications from written deployment plans.- Maintain technical and procedural documentation.- Write and review data fixes.- Undertake maintenance and enhancement development of several applications.- Contribute to the creation of effort estimates for requested enhancement and development work.- Ensure that deliverables are prioritised and completed within the specified timeframes.- Work closely with a small team of DBA professionals to deliver best practice application database support. Relevant Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) skills for this role are:- DBAD-4 Database administration- DBDS-4 Database design- SCTY-3 Information Security- SCAD-3 Security Administration What you will bring Essential requirements- Experience in Application Database Administration.- Experience with databases technologies, including but not limited to, MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.- Writing and maintaining PowerShell scripts.- Experience working both collaboratively and independently, to help team meet assigned deadlines.- Experience in problem solving in an application support environment. You may also have- Experience working in a team.- Experience documenting and following standard operating procedures.- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of standard SQL/Server and/or PostgreSQL utilities.- Experience and knowledge of standard Ingres utilities.- Writing and maintaining UNIX korn shell and perl scripts on Solaris.- Experience with any of the following: PuTTY, SQuirreL, dbschema, Erwin,Microsoft Office suite, Confluence, standard UNIX tools such as vi, scp, ssh, grep, awk, sed and ksh.- Database upgrading. SVN, TFS, GIT and VSS version control systems.- Experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies. Key competenciesAll employees are expected to role model leadership behaviours.
