Your key responsibilities Deliver strategic and legal policy initiatives which may include preparation of drafting instructions and instructing the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel (OQPC) relevant to legislative reform options. Prepare submissions (including for Cabinet and Cabinet Committees), briefs, ministerial and departmental correspondence, answers to parliamentary Questions on Notice, Cabinet and Executive Council documentation and legal and policy advice for the Attorney-General, senior departmental officers and units within the Department relating to the implementation of legislative reform. Undertake regulatory impact assessments and, if necessary, prepare Regulatory Impact Statements and related materials. Undertake detailed and extensive consultation with other departments and agencies. Prepare material to support consideration by the Rules Committee, including attendance at meetings and briefings as required. Consult with relevant statutory bodies, departments, professional bodies and community groups on policy matters. Represent the department in inter-departmental and inter-agency meetings and working groups.
