We are looking for talented individuals to join our Federal Government Client as a Data Engineer on an initial 6 month contract. This position is open to both permanent residents and australian citizens. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and optimise existing data pipelines and data warehouse. Collaborate with stakeholders to provide input and recommendations on new data solutions and initiatives. Design and develop data models to support business requirements. Develop, implement, and test ETL processes to acquire, transform, and prepare data for analysis. Document new and existing data solutions. Identify and address data validation and quality issues. Support data governance and management activities. Provide ad-hoc data query support. Diagnose and resolve data platform performance and availability issues. Automate data extraction and submission processes for external stakeholders. Assist in the development and review of data reports and dashboards. Ensure the protection and confidentiality of sensitive data. Essential Criteria: Tertiary qualification or 3 years of experience in data modeling, database design, and implementation. Proficiency in Microsoft BI stack (SQL, SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, PowerBI). Knowledge of data warehousing principles and methodologies. Experience with complex ETL development using SSIS and stored procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desirable Criteria: Experience with Azure Data Services. Familiarity with sensitive data identification and classification.
