About the Role As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the Medical Receptionist is expected to personally contribute to the shaping and achievement of ATSICHS vision and goals within their own scope. As a first point of contact the Medical Receptionist is required to ensure the patient flow is conducted with minimal interruptions by effectively using time management skills, informative communication skills while observing the overall demeanour of the patients in waiting. Excellent patient care relies on the medical administration processes to be conducted in an accurate and time sensitive manner. You will support The ATSICHS Brisbane environment to build a sense of teamwork within the team and ATSICHS family. Staff will actively participate in team activities and contribute to a flourishing workplace culture that promotes the ethos and values of ATSICHS Brisbane as a long standing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation. Duties Actively contribute to the implementation of the Model of Care with particular emphasis on leading and supporting the function of the medical reception. Ensure efficient patient flow though effective use of the clinic calendars. Display exceptional phone manner when taking calls or messages. Ensure appropriate handling of GP referrals. Contribute towards ensuring the recall function is in accordance with the ATSICHS Policies and Procedures. Ensure the handling of patient correspondence is in accordance with ATSICHS Privacy Policy and Procedures. Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes with annual reviews into the efficiency of the service provision. Contribute towards ensuring the Medical Service Billing function is in accordance with the ATSICHS Policies and Procedures. Benefits Permanent Part Time position with annual salary of $58,802 11 % Super Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay). Essential: Willingness to learn Availability across Monday - Saturday Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture and ways of doing business Desirable, but not mandatory: Previous experience working in an administration and /or service coordination role Experience working within an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service Previous experience working with an electronic Patient Management System such as MMEx Knowledge and understanding of the Australian Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) and the Medicare system and Practice Incentive Programs (PIP) Certificate III Business Administration (or equivalent) Organisation skills, including an ability to multi-task, to plan, set and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines, and to work independently, efficiently and effectively Interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate your ability to problem solve and negotiate positive outcomes Interpersonal skills with a focus on client focused outcomes How to apply If this sounds like you, please submit your application by following the links on the recruitment page.
