About the role The Design Manager is an integral part of the team and will be responsible for working with Construction Teams to manage the design process to meet the clients brief and exceed their expectations. You will be an advisor to our design partners and internal teams to ensure design compliance and to implement best practice solutions throughout the bid and construction delivery phases. You will be responsible for: Building and maintaining strong relationships with our subcontractors, clients and design partners. Contribution to the successful conversion of project throughout the bid and tender process. Identification and mitigation of design risk in contract management, safety, and project delivery. Management of the design process including co-ordination of internal stakeholders and external consultants. Guidance and advice on compliance, buildability, sustainability, and value management to our project teams. Maximising commercial outcomes for SHAPE through mitigation of design risk during delivery. Managing your time to work in collaboration with multiple teams and projects. About you 5 years of experience in design and client management within commercial construction (preferably fit-out and refurbishment). Tertiary qualifications in Architecture or Interior Design. Strong time and project management skills to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget and to expected standards. A collaborative approach to teamwork and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. High attention to detail with solid experience in interpreting specifications and drawings for compliance, buildability and value management.
