Flagstone State Community College is a growing school community that prides itself of fostering diverse learning opportunities in a positive and inclusive community of learners that allow our students to thrive. Our college is developing a strong Sports Development Program with specialisation in Netball, Basketball, Rugby League and Oztag. This is complemented by a thriving Creative Arts program, a pioneering Entrepreneurial Education approach to Technologies and STEM and Academic Enrichment Program.Staff are supported through a comprehensive approach to collegial engagement with school leaders engaging in daily Learning Walks and Talks and fortnightly school funded Collaborative Inquiry Cycles. The Head of Department for Teaching and Learning plays an active role in leading and supporting middle leaders in engaging in these instructional leadership practices. This position also has oversight over co-designing and adopting whole schools processes and practices that mobilize the P-12CARF. About the Role: You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks: Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups. Be futures oriented and strategic. Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department. Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals. Interested?
