In this role, you'll tackle challenges head-on and deliver practical solutions that pave the way for progress. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from participating in business development initiatives like scoping and estimating new projects and tenders, to addressing technical hurdles encountered during planning and design phases and providing crucial support throughout construction and maintenance activities across our infrastructure portfolio. By leveraging your expertise, you'll play a pivotal role in establishing us as the leading energy partner, driving our vision forward amidst the dynamic landscape of the market. With a 2/3 Hybrid split, this role is based in Southbank, VIC and is part of the Infrastructure Engineering, Network Development, Development & Future Networks with occasional travel to Ausnet Sites and Client Offices This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Provide specialist technical, commercial, and design support for AusNets' growth during the energy transition. Develop tender documents, detailed designs, scopes, and specifications for various projects. Offer innovative solutions for electricity transmission challenges. Collaborate on electrical engineering matters with commercial partners, subcontractors, and clients. Evaluate complex technical problems and propose inventive solutions. Assess risks associated with new substation assets joining the existing infrastructure fleet. Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering standards and designs to ensure regulatory compliance and achieve growth targets. You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Possess engineering qualifications with a track record of delivering successful technical design outcomes. Demonstrate knowledge of primary and/or secondary electrical equipment used in high-voltage substations, including layout and technical reporting. Exhibit understanding of substation equipment design, performance, functionality, operation, and maintenance. Build effective working relationships with stakeholders internally and externally to facilitate project collaborations. Translate conceptual plans into feasible designs, managing budgets and schedules for design deliverables. Showcase expertise in industry infrastructure design and construction, understanding customer and shareholder needs. Collaborate with various project-related disciplines and network service providers, including communications and civil works, ensuring seamless coordination.
