About Us: The Foundry Café on King Street is part of Newcastle’s first mixed-use Development. Home to 291 On King, Gym on King, Explore & Develop Childcare and Commercial Operations. We are looking for a driven, passionate and experienced Cook to join out team in a full time position Key skills and responsibilities: Prepare ingredients and cook menu items; Assist the Chef where required ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe; Maintain recipe cards and menu items introducing seasonal and speciality menu items; Ensure proper food handling, sanitation and following food storage procedures; Ensure the kitchen has an exceptional level of cleanliness and free from hazards; Desirable: Food Handling Certification or willingness to obtain one; Experience in pastry/baking an advantage but not essential. About You: Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Cook; Previous experience working in a cafe' setting preferred but not essential; Availability to work on weekends when required; Work as a proactive and efficient team member; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Exceptional customer service skills and positive “can do attitude”; Must have an excellent work ethic, be well presented and friendly.
