This tech area sits within our Payments Technology domain within the Group Technology Division. We are seeking a dynamic Software Engineering Lead to guide our technical team towards excellence in software development. About the role: This role encompasses strategic planning, resource management, technical innovation, quality assurance, and team leadership. The Software Engineering Lead will play a pivotal role in driving our software development initiatives, delivering high-quality, innovative solutions aligned with our business objectives. As part of our strategic goals, we are migrating our platform to the GCP cloud, and your leadership will be instrumental in achieving this transition. Key Responsibilities : Software Engineering Leadership: Lead and inspire the team to uphold best practices in software development, ensuring high-quality deliverables and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. Technical Vision and Product Excellence: Embrace and enable the technical vision, aligning with organizational objectives. Oversee the development of products, emphasizing efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Enforce top-notch security practices. Cross Capability Collaboration: Facilitate cross capability collaboration with design, testing, and analyst leads to integrate their processes seamlessly into the development lifecycle, fostering teamwork and innovation. Resource Management: Collaborate with business stakeholders, such as product owners, to achieve project milestones and right-size software delivery teams, ensuring effective allocation and utilization. Risk Management and Problem-solving: Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks, supporting the team in problem-solving and root cause analysis. Talent Management: Lead recruitment, onboarding, and career development efforts to maintain a high-performing team. This includes mentoring of chapter leads to foster their growth and effectiveness in shaping the development capability. Representation and Leadership: Represent the Development team in leadership meetings, guiding team members to reach their full potential. About You To grow and be successful in this role you will ideally bring the following: Your experience in leading technical teams will have been honed over a 5 year period, including coaching Tech leads and others new to people leadership. You will have a strong background in software development, coupled with exceptional leadership skills to drive innovation, encourage collaboration, and spearhead the continued evolution of industry-leading technology solutions within the team.
