Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our Technology department on a permanent basis. The role will be based can be based in our Sydney, Melbourne or Hong Kong office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility. As a hands-on Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer, your days will be filled with vigilant monitoring, timely patching, and meticulous configuration. Dive into a role where no two days are the same as you support a diverse range of devices, from desktops to point-of-sale systems. Your Mission: Daily Vigilance: Keep a watchful eye on Merlin's extensive global server estate, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. Comprehensive Support: Provide top-notch support for a myriad of devices, including desktops, mobile phones, tablets, and more. Infrastructure Management: Dive deep into managing broader infrastructure components and privileged access management, ensuring everything is secure and streamlined. Operational Excellence: Resolve operational issues swiftly, perform preventative maintenance, and analyse performance statistics, all while adhering to standardized SLAs and the ITIL framework. Senior Engineer Leadership: As a senior engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for technical server escalations within the Global Operations team, leading the charge towards a 24/5 support rota. Essential Requirements: Proven experience in IT Infrastructure support, with a record of problem-solving in medium to large enterprise environments. Advanced knowledge and support abilities in Windows Server, Active Directory, and understanding of internal workings. Proficiency in Office 365 administration and experience with Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, and VMware ESX. Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, including Citrix Cloud services. Understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and basic networking principles. Familiarity with monitoring solutions like SolarWinds Orion and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow. Fluency in English or strong English comprehension, as we support staff worldwide. Ability to manage time and priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Skills: Leadership experience. Experience in PCI environments is advantageous. Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server product family. Knowledge of automation tools and PowerShell scripting. Full driving license and access to transport. A commitment to ongoing growth and development within Merlin. ITIL Foundation certification or awareness of ITIL processes, especially change, knowledge, and incident management. Additional Information: Travel: Occasional overseas travel may be required based on business needs. Flexibility: Expectations for flexible working hours, including weekends, bank holidays, and evenings/early mornings as necessary.
