Join the Mine Engineering & Stability (MES) team from our Brisbane office, & collaborate with industry leading professionals working on open pit & underground mining projects. We are experts in our field, and we are passionate about mining. What you'll do: Provide consulting services for open pit and underground mining projects, both in Australian and internationally. Work on a diverse range of rock mechanics, and civil engineering projects. This includes managing projects, field investigations, design and construction, geotechnical analysis. Manage quality control and risk during geotechnical and design work, including critical review of results in consultation with internal stakeholders. Direct or manage large, complex, and/or multidisciplinary projects, and deliver high quality reports and drawings on time and within budget. Maintain existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities. Compile or review technical proposals and design work packages. Mentor junior and intermediate staff with respect to their career growth and professional development. Participate in performance reviews and training decisions. Participate in development and implementation of WSP's mining strategy. Work collaboratively with other senior members of the Global Mining team to implement the business growth strategy, develop, and maintain relationships with a broad client base. Promote a safety-first culture at WSP. About you: Extensive relevant (post-degree) experience working in a consulting engineering or mining industry environment. An undergraduate or post-graduate degree in mine geotechnical engineering or engineering geology. Professional membership of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) or Engineers Australia with Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) accreditation. Expertise in soil and rock mechanics/engineering geology. Excellent technical writing skills, interpersonal communication, and emotional intelligence. Proven ability to establish and maintain solid client relationships. Experience in the application of advanced geotechnical/geological modelling software including Rocscience, Map3D, Itasca, Plaxis, Vulcan, and LeapFrog. Ability to manage risk. Excellent engineering judgement. Ability to effectively delegate work and assist in leading diverse, interdisciplinary project teams. Business acumen and leadership.
